Kiddie Acres

Yes, we have resorted to bribery to get our 3 year old daughter to go to bed and stay there - and you know what? It works! We have had a lot of trouble over the past months of getting Sarah to go to bed. It was not unusual for her to finally go to sleep around 9 pm or later, while still having to get up at 6:30 am during the work week. I was reading an "end bedtime battles" article and it suggested making a bedtime chart. She had done really well with the potty training chart, so I thought, why not? So I found a free customizable chart where I put four things that she has to do each night to get a sticker the next morning: put on pjs, brush teeth, read two books and go to bed. If she makes it a whole week without giving us any trouble, we give her a special surprise. We're up to week 4 now I think, and so far, so good. A couple of times she's tried to tell us that she is done with the chart, but then we remind her that she won't get any special surprises and that will stop all nonsense of not following the chart.

We had been wanting to try out Kiddie Acres, so I got the idea to use this as one of her special surprises and boy, did she like it! It was fun - only takes about an hour to ride all the rides, and the teenagers working are extremely polite and good with the kids. It could be where we have her 4th birthday...

More photos can be found here.

Sarah wanted to ride the purple plane
and this little boy wanted to ride with her

Even Nathan and I could ride some of the rides!

This was the thing she was the most excited about and look at that face!
His name is Copper. She said later she was scared at first but then liked it.

Check out the snaggle-tooth

Yum, push-ups!

Another one that Nathan and I rode.
It went up pretty high and I DID NOT LIKE IT.

The final ride, the train that circles the park. Awesome.
