Christmas Part Two: The Nutcracker

Last Sunday, I took Sarah to see Ballet Austin's The Nutcracker in the new Long Center for the Performing Arts. It was a very special thing - we both got dressed up and we even took photos before we left. I've left off the pics of us posing with presents (Sarah's idea), but here are a couple that are cute. The second one has the Austin skyline in the background (if you've been away awhile, it has changed - heck, there's now a skyline!). There was a group of girl scouts posing in the same place for pics and when they left, Sarah ran to the edge, turned around and smiled. All of a sudden I realized that she wanted me to take her picture too! The video was me thinking to capture Sarah's rendition of The Nutcracker. I missed some of her best moves, but this is still cute - even with the mishap at the end. Oh, by the way, Sarah told me that she wants to dance in "that show" when she's bigger. She doesn't want to dance with boys though. She wants to be a true ballerina!

For all you cold weather people, we were in the 70s that day. I was overdressed for the temp!
