Snow and a Forgotten Teddy Bear Tea

I was going through my iPhone and noticed that I forgot to include a couple pics from Sarah's Teddy Bear Tea that she went to in January. Sarah joined Daisies (Girl Scouts) late this year, in December, and it has been the sweetest thing she could be a part of. Most of her troop is in her class, and they meet twice per month, after school. There are quite a few weekend activities as well, and one of them this past month was a Teddy Bear Tea. Yes, the girls each dressed up and brought a real tea cup (most were freaking out about using porcelain, ceramic, etc) and their favorite teddy bear. Some older Girl Scouts led the tea and they sang songs, made crafts, decorated a cookie, and then had tea with their teddy bears. Luckily, they were running a bit late, so when I showed up to get Sarah, she was still eating, so I took some pictures.

This past Friday, our kids' dreams came true, and we had a snow day! It has been pretty cold for Austin, and the stars aligned for there to be snow. It's the most snow I've ever seen in Texas. Our backyard actually looked more impressive, but I didn't get a picture of that, unfortunately. The kids had a ball, for about 30 minutes, then Nate went inside for good, and Sarah came inside as well, only to warm up and then head back out. Her second time out she was able to play with our neighbor Zoe. Kevin was helping the kids make a snowman, but they quickly lost interest, so he finished it for them. I think there might be a little bit left now, but not much longer. We made it up into the upper 50s/low 60s today. Gotta love Texas weather!

Eating her cookie - they had real sugar cubes
for the tea, but Sarah chose milk to drink.

A "real" tea cup!

Chomping at the bit to play in the snow

One snow angel...

Another snow angel...

Two snow angels!

There's a Texas-sized snowman!

Zoe being pulled in her sled (they used to live in Nebraska)

Sarah got a turn on the sled too
