Anyway, I started having contractions around 2 am, and finally woke Kevin up a few hours later. I was waiting for the contractions to get more regular, which is what got us into trouble the week before when we went to the hospital. Called the doctor and we were told to come in. Got there around 8 am, eventually had a wonderful epidural (they do work when done correctly!), and started pushing around a little before 6 pm. One thing that happened with the last push, was that apparently Luke's shoulder got stuck, but we didn't know, and the next thing I hear, the doctor is yelling at Kevin to pull the emergency cord! Before I can even register what is going on, about 5 people come running in, including a nurse who jumps on top of me and with my last push (which everyone is yelling that it needs to be a good one) the nurse pushes down on my stomach as hard as she can. (Again, thank goodness for a good epidural - her pushing might have killed me otherwise) We found out that because Luke was stuck, he also wasn't getting any air, so was turning blue. The crisis was averted in a matter of seconds, and luckily it happened so fast, Kevin and I weren't able to know how serious it could have been.
After that, things were normal, and we began welcoming visitors. We heard that Sarah and Nate were suuuuuper excited, running to the phone whenever it would ring, so they came up right away with Kevin's parents and my mom.
