Dance Recital 2011

Sarah's dance studio holds a big recital every other year, so this year was just a demonstration. Her class learned two dances - one tap and the other ballet. The ballet number was to I Feel Pretty (complete with hand mirrors) and the tap dance was to Think Pink. I think it's from a Barbie movie, I'm not sure.

We were rushing to the demonstration (it seems we can't get anywhere on time without stress these days) and we walk into the building and I realize that we don't have Sarah's shoes! I'm freaking out, but Sarah was great. Kevin hopped into the car and drove almost all the way home when Sarah's dance teachers found extra shoes that she could wear for her performances. Kevin turned around and made it back in time to see his daughter perform. Needless to say, he wasn't the happiest camper. The girls did great and we went out for ice cream afterwards to celebrate. When we got into the car, I looked at the back of Kevin's Tahoe and saw Sarah's dance bag. Her shoes were in the car the entire time! Kevin and I both let this one go, and learned that we will need to check every place the kids were the next time that they say they don't have something. Lesson learned.

Sarah will not be taking dance this coming year. She wants to try gymnastics, so we will be doing that instead, along with Daisies. She told me, "I just want to try different things and see what I like!" Fair enough. I will miss her teacher Ms. Trish though!

I feel pretty, oh so pretty...

Think pink!
