Just wanted to give an update on Nathan's surgery. Nathan and I reported to the hospital at 5:30 this morning and he was in a great mood (made Mommy feel even more crummy). They took him back around 6:45 and then the doctor came out at 7:09 (I actually saw a digital clock) and said that everything went well and Nathan was doing great. I got to go see him about 10 minutes later and when you hear that children come out of anesthesia crying and fussy - they aren't kidding! Nathan finally calmed down and we were on our way home before 8 am. Kevin and Sarah came up to the hospital as we were getting discharged and Sarah brought Nathan one of her stuffed animals to borrow. Very thoughtful.
I have spent the day home with Nathan and it's gotten better. The first 6 hours or so were pretty rough. I read up on these surgeries, but somewhere I overlooked the amount of snot that keeps forming so I'm now wearing an old t-shirt - let's just say that I need a shower! Anyway, around 2 pm, Nathan started acting more like his old self. A full bottle, some jarred fruit and some Puffs helped a lot! He's going to stay home one more day, this time with Kevin and then it's back to the daily grind. After that we'll just wait and see how much this surgery will help Nathan avoid the fall colds that will be starting up soon.
