Virginia Trip 2010

Kevin had his company's annual conference in Washington D.C. this year, so after a week of work, we flew up to meet him and visit my brother, who lives in Fredericksburg. Sarah and Nate had never flown, so they were excited, nervous, etc. and so was I! The kids did great, although I'm soooo glad that I borrowed a monkey backpack leash for Nate. He liked it, and I was happy to hold onto something while maneuvering the airport! We met up at the National Zoo, which I had never been to, but was pretty neat - even got to see a panda for the first time! Then it was time for some historical sight-seeing in Fredericksburg, finished up with some bowling. One thing that we don't have pictures of, are all the times we played Wii. Sarah got pretty good at bowling and Kevin and I enjoyed quite a few tennis matches.

On the plane, ready for take off!

The O-line: a way for the orangutans to cross from
their habitat to the primate lab. They cross overhead while
you are walking by - very cool!

Is somebody looking at us?

Camille got brave, but Nate wasn't so sure

It took us awhile to notice the large bone near the lion's back leg!

The cousins: Autumn, Camille, Nate and Sarah

The panda!

Sarah had ANOTHER birthday celebration!

Pic from a colonial hotel/restaurant. We had a tour by
a beer wench and an indentured servant.

Kevin set Tim up with a smoker box for his gas grill.
Tim had me take a picture of the smoke.

Check out those ribs!

And a close up - another request of my brother's

Testing the ribs

Camille gave them a thumbs up!

After dinner dessert for some really good ice cream!

Yum!

Nate would do the funniest dances after he'd bowl
