Eyes Wide Shut

Today, I am a little over 17 weeks along, which means, yes, we have another baby coming! The due date is April 29, so we'll see how long this baby makes it. Big sister came at 35.5 weeks and big brother came at 37.5 weeks. So far, everything is going smoothly, although there will be some major changes in our house. For example, I need a new and bigger car. I think SUV is in my future... Next, we have a 3 bedroom house, so somebody is going to be sharing a room! Sarah has offered to have the baby share with her, but we might hold off on that one for awhile. (:

How have the kids taken the news? Well, when we told them, Sarah said, "for real?" Then she came over to me and said that she was very happy and very excited. She has offered to help feed and hold the baby, but doesn't want to change diapers for some reason. Nate didn't quite seem to understand it until we told him that he would be a big brother, which he liked. Sarah would love a sister, although she understands that it's not up to us. We were still surprised when she said that this time, maybe it will be a girl, but next year (insert - when I have another baby) it will be a boy. I don't think so! (:

So far, we have one nephew who thinks it's a boy (we think he's guessed the first two correctly). I had a dream that it was a girl, my face is breaking out like it did with Sarah, and my massage therapist in Costa Rica said it's a girl. I go back to the doc after Thanksgiving, and hopefully we'll set the ultrasound appointment. If anyone would like to make their bets, go right ahead. All proceeds go towards this child's college fund!

So why are we calling this posting Eyes Wide Shut? Well, I think we can safely say that we have a pretty good idea of what a new baby and another child means, so here we are, preparing and excited for a new addition to our family, but boy, are we not looking forward to the first few weeks/months of sleepless nights, recovery, nursing, etc. Add two other kiddos, and we are taking help (er, I mean "guests") for the spring and summer - step right up, I know a great place for you all to come visit!
