Sarah Plays Soccer

Sarah played soccer this fall for the first time, and boy, was it fun! She played for the YMCA, so no scores, although the kids all know who won - and so do the parents! Most of the kids on Sarah's team hadn't played before, and it was neat to watch their skills and confidence grow as the season progressed.

Sarah was very particular about what she wore - no black cleats for her. We ended up with silver Nikes with a hot pink swoosh on the side. The socks had to be pink, as well as the shin guards. When I played, we didn't have these options!

Not sure if she'll play again, but we hope so. Sarah scored two goals and had a few assists. Thanks to the friends and family that came to watch. Sarah was nervous at first, but said she was happy everyone came after all.

The coach gives them a beginning of the game pep talk

Tough bunch of kids...

The kids lined up before the game began to say the YMCA pledge.

And here's what Nate did during the games.
Cheer for his big sister and climb on rocks.

Kevin helped to keep the ball in bounds and Nate would help too.
