I haven't posted for awhile and I'm feeling like I've been ignoring the blog, so I thought I'd let you all know the latest on our children's verbal precociousness...
Nathan actually said, "thank you!" We affectionately call him the caveman b/c he usually prefers to point and grunt, but the other day, Sarah offered him some of her snack and I said to him, "tell Sarah thank you" and he did! It was plain as day. We're making progress, guys. It's very exciting.
That same day, my daughter was playing out front with her jump rope, pretending that it was a hose that blew smoke (who knows why) and she started yelling at the top of her lungs, "I want to be a smoker!" I, of course, quickly looked around the street to see who might be outside, but either they were too nice and quickly ran inside, or we were lucky and nobody was around to hear our daughter profess her future intentions.
