Wanted to give an update on Nate at the ripe old age of 3. We learned that he is 36.5 lbs and 38 inches tall, which puts him at 95% in weight and 85% in height. He is really turning out to be a sweet boy who is very goofy. Kevin are I are afraid that we might have a "class clown" on our hands. The teachers tell us all the time how funny he is! I hope his elementary teachers feel the same way!
It's always amazing to me the worksheets the kids do at their day care at this age, but now that Sarah is in kindergarten, we know that they will be ready for the workload, which is comforting. Nate seems to understand what he's supposed to do on these sheets, but I think he gets bored and only does what he has to, which is very different from his big sister, who doesn't finish work because she wants everything to be just so.
A few words that Nate uses that we want to remember:
ohpimeal = oatmeal (this is now our family word for it)
cooter = computer (although he started saying it correctly this weekend, sigh)
Taco Banana = Taco Cabana
Nate still loves sports, and is dying to start playing something, anything. After we get home, it's not unusual to see us outside playing (all of these, not just one): tennis, baseball, soccer, kickball, and football. He constantly asks to watch football on TV and has a hard time understanding that it's not always on (I'm not introducing him to ESPN Classics, etc until he can figure it out for himself!) He's enjoyed watching Sarah play soccer, but we might have to put him into something this spring. He also likes to pretend he's sleeping, which usually involves lots of snoring and a scrunched up smiling face!
Pictures from his party will be posted soon!
