We hope that everyone had a happy and safe 4th of July! We had a busy day. It all began with a parade in our neighborhood that went down our street! Since we had never seen or participated in this parade, we weren't sure how it was going to go, so we decided to decorate our wagon (we knew they were giving out prizes for Best Decorated Wagons) and we waited on our street. Pretty soon, we could hear the siren of a fire truck, and we knew something was coming. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of the sight that greeted us (Kevin had the video camera going and it took be awhile to find the camera), but let's just say an old-fashioned fire truck came down the center of the street, flanked by kids on bikes, four-wheelers, electric cars, you name it. It was pretty funny!
After the parade, we headed up to Aunt Ann and Uncle Trey's annual party. It's also Uncle Trey's birthday, so Sarah was excited. As always, we had fun, but with the burn ban, there were no fireworks. Sarah wasn't disappointed since she remembered that she didn't like them from last year. The girls at this party were greatly outnumbered by the boys and so they hung out together. As you'll see, Sarah thought she was tough stuff being with the older girls.
Getting ready for the parade, practicing her waving skills
About to head out to the parade
(okay, that means across the street to the shade)

Waiting with Daddy for the parade to start
So I missed the first wave, but there they go!
Here's the second wave of paraders
We joined in - Sarah's waving that flag!
Here's the fire truck
Sarah got to "drive" the fire truck
3rd Place and a popsicle, not bad!
Matthew hung out with Sarah in her pool for a bit
Nathan joined in the fun
The girls decided they were ready to move on
to bigger and better things
Sarah finally tried the big slip 'n slide - and loved it!
The boys were off doing boy things, so the few girls
took over the slip 'n slide
Sarah is soooo cool!
